12:04 pm - Winter Solstice Necklace/ Wicked Lovely FanJewelry

Winter Solstice Necklace/ Wicked Lovely FanJewelry

This was done for (or inspired because of) two reasons. Well three.
1. It snowed in Louisiana. Very rare, so yay!
2. This nice lady whom (who?) I barely know bought me this nice sterling snowflake pendant!
3. I saw so Wicked Lovely (a book by Melissa Marr) inspired jewlery and I wanted to make my own. (I would choose the winter court or Donia because I already had this amazing pendant..)
Okay and here's a forth reason...
4. Today is the Winter Solstice. Yay!
Though only the pendant is real silver, the rest of the silver stuff is silver plated I guess? The beads are black.
I picked the silver beads, firstly because I really like the old world kind of style and secondly because the seemed very "Winter Court Fey/Donia" to me. The fey wouldn't actually wear this because of the silver and metal (because it would kill them most likely) I'm sure they would wear beads and such. Oh, yes, I did make the necklace from beads from walmart. I didn't just buy an already made necklace. What kind of creative person would I be if I did that?
 Chris's WickLove Tatto

 My WickLove Tatto

MelMarr sent me these tats. I had yet to use them until my friend came over last weekend and we decided to have some fun. ;p

08:13 pm - Giving Up On A Dream...
Just recently I've decided to give up on writing. My excuses are that it's just too hard and I just don't feel that I'm cut out for it. Immediately after I'd made my decision I felt like this big weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I was cool with it, you know? But the strangest thing is happening now. I find myself still thinking about my characters and there untold stories. I actually find myself bored because I have nothing to do because otherwise I'd be writing. Now it's like I must find something else to fill that time. Something that I'll equally enjoy as much as I did writing.
For now that thing will just have to be my job. I just got promoted to full time chashier down at the grocery store. I think it would be wise for me to focuss my energy on earning money to go to school. For now at least.

07:24 pm - I feel useless, like I'm just taking up space...

What is the point of me going to school? I'm convinced that it would just be a waste of time, energy, and money.

07:56 am - Fall...

Hmm, some good things that are happening this time of year...

The weather's getting cooler. I do love that, though it does get hot still during the middle of the day. I won't be satisfied until I'm freezing my tail off and smoke is coming from my mouth. Also I hope they'll be a few fires in the backyard. Ah, cold weather is so cool...
I am working on a story I had a bit of a glitch with. I did a new outline though using the time period of the story ( It lasts 7 days, so I categorized the events accordingly.) and that turned out good.

November: Nanowrimo...I'll be working on my vampfey story for that. Yes my vampires are faeries...

Also Shadow Kissed comes out in this month, so I will be picking up a copy...

                     Um-hmm...Thanksgiving

December: 3 words: Twilight the Movie...I don't know if I'll pre-order 2 tickets (one for me and a friend) or if I'll wait untill more tickets become available (I'm expecting the movie to be sold out) and hope that no one spoils the movie for me. I usually don't care about spoilers, but for this I just want to know what happens when I see it.

And then there's Christmas. I've been promised an ipod because I don't want one but have been urged to get one. My friend said "I'm getting you one for Christmas..." Doh!

Hopefully I'll have the two above mentioned stories completed and ready to send off by this time. That would really be the best christmas present I could give myself...

01:03 pm - What's in a name.....???
Name Analysis

I stumbled across this site while searching for a character name. Apparently your name says alot about your personality as a zodiac sign would...I think this is a little weird but interesting just the same...

The link >>>> www.kabalarians.com/index.cfm
Just type in your name and click analyze...
My name is Michaela, and this is what I got...

  • Although the name Michaela creates an interest in the deeper aspects of life, we emphasize that it limits self-expression and friendly congeniality with a moody disposition.

  • This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the heart, lungs and bronchial area.

  • The name of Michaela gives you a clever, quick, analytical mind, but you suffer with a great deal of self-consciousness, lack of confidence, and much aloneness because of misunderstandings.

  • Your idealistic and sensitive nature gives you a deep appreciation for the finer things of life and a strong desire to be of service to humanity.

  • There are times when you experience inner turbulence at your inability to say what you mean.

  • It is far easier for you to express your deeper thoughts and feelings through writing than verbally.

  • You find pleasure in literature, in poetry, and in your ideals and will turn to them when you feel you have been misunderstood.

  • You are deeply moved by the beauties of life, especially nature.

09:50 pm - Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist

So we just got back from watching this Brilliant movie. If you haven't seen it, please go. It's a bit of an indie-ish film. Very awesome.
I did start writing the first paragraph of a new story- currently entitled Deja Vu-during the before previews...
Got a new book today-Warrior's Heir. Hope it's good...No, I have not yet finished reading Evernight...
I also got the supplies to work on my goth-lolita-vampire costume. If I actually succeed in making it I'll have saved about 80 bucks...Good times.

09:06 pm - A Bit Stoked...

So, I won that bookdiva's short story contest, and I won a book for it. It seemed like an accomplishment, however small. Special thanks to My Father in Heaven who hath seen fit to blesseth me with a skill to write, and my mommy  and Raven who edited and critiqued...

11:24 pm - Back to Civilization...
Hurricane came. Power went out monday. We still have no power. It's cooler (Yay!!!) but still hot enough to be uncomfortable. Um, so who knew food was so hard to come by? I'm eating okay but I don't think others are fortunate to have a three eye gas stove. No cable and regular channels (the two we can actually catch) pretty much make TV suckish. Though, again, not many have the luxury of a generator powered television. I'm very tired, but my sis's job has internet which the only reason I am up past 10 and will stay in this hotel lobby until about 8 tomorrow morning. Yawn. On a lighter note the river that was my yard is now gone which is more than  I can say for the gigantic tree that's fallen in the back yard. Hope we have power soon, but at least we're okay. Now, if only those men in the bar in the next room would shut up...

09:41 pm - A Bit Bummed

So sometimes, not at all all the time or even the majority of the time, I get the feeling that my mother doesn't really like me, which I admit would be quite fine with me if I weren't totally dependent on her. I mean, I'm 19. I make less than 400 bucks a month, I don't even have my driver's license. I'm not in school, so basically my entire life consists of taking up valuable air and space. Lately my mom has been saying she wants to move to Sunset, Louisiana which is some back field, not even on the map, nothing happens there, the middle of the middle of nowhere land, which is saying something considering I live in the middle of a sugar cane field and small patch of woods.
So obviously I don't want to go there, my mom is getting tired of me, my sister doesn't really like me more than half the time, plus she drinks and smokes weed, and my mom likes her better. If I do manage to save a little money while living with my mom, I'm only going to wind up giving it to her. Blah blah blah blah blah, everyone's out to get me, blah blah blah, right?
Anyway-

I picked up a Writer's Digest today, ang gosh, I had to breath fire and manipulate water just to get someone to take me to the book store.
I also picked up Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs today, which was good.

I'm currently reading Looking for Alaska by John green and it seems really good. I really like the book's overall tone and the fact that it's very well written. I'm also reading The Dream Thief by Shana Abe. It's a romance involving dragons but it's not like one of those weird kiddy fantasy novels but seems actually to be based on the legends of dragons which is interesting. The guy is witty which I always find good since I'm addicted to funny.  Mari Mancusi is funny which is why I recently finished reading Stake That! which is not as good as Boys That Bite, but still funny.
I have read Breaking Dawn which was satisfying.

Books I am still currently awaiting are:
Shadow Kissed
Fragile Eternity
and
The continuance of the short stories in On The Prowl
oh, and
Vampire Knight Vol5 (manga)

I'm trying to read:
Bloodline
and
Beastly

My right thumb and pointer fingers are kind of bothering me...I hope that doesn't prevent me from typing...

Just made a play list for Halex and Essen. I'll probably start re-writing their story- again - tomorrow...

10:32 am

First off, Who knew fasfa costs 80Bucks?!?!!!!

Second, and this is unusual, but I think I may have started to write something. Wolfe's Blood, it's called, or maybe Wolfe Code-it hasn't decided yet. We'll see how that goes, though I must say that I am impressed with myself for getting past 2 pages...however horrible the 14 pages I now have are...

My may-mester of school is over, yet I don't know my grade for the class. The teacher said that if she doesn't have them ours up by Tuesday, then congratulations, we passed. Yet I am still worried as I am one of those people who need to know "for sure for sure".  Sadly, because of my schedule, I can't take any art classes in the fall, without giving up english 102, that is.

I got a new job as a library page ( ask if you don't know what that is ((not that anybody reads my journals)). I took a small pay-cut, but I do get benefits with this job. Plus I only work a few hours ( either 2 or 4) mon-thurs and 8 hours every other saturday. Transportation circumstances are more convenient for me because of the jobs location (15 min from my house) so it allows me to stay at home for the big part of my day, which is probably why I've found the time and urge to write.

And I Sir R. Riddley won't return my email even though I made if very colorful...*squinty eyes*

11:17 am - blah...

English kind of sucked today. It's actually been sucking for the past few days. 1st off I apparently have a problem with proffesional writing, so I guess I won't be majoring in journalism...I got an F on an essay, probably because of techincal plagerism-Citations are kicking my butt. We had to watch V for Vendetta today, and though I understood it, I didn't enjoy watching it. It just wasn't entertaining for me and thus has earned a spot on my sucktastic list. Natalie Portman was pretty as always though.

10:26 am - School Day 4

School has become the highlight of my day.
I mentioned earlier that I had a job interview...but I didn't get it because I was not enrolled in school full time...I was really bummed...I ate. Yeah, so I got the stupid eating disorder. When people get sad or depressed, some people stop eating and lose weight. I do the opposite.
So are essays that are due tomorrow are for descriptive or profile. I asked could I profile a book character...The teacher said yes. My immediate choice was to profile (though I may describe) Rose Hathaway, but I lent my friend both of my books, so I'll probably do another character from my top four. Probably Leslie...Now that I think about, most likely leslie.
In other news:
A cute boy from class today said I was "...just awesome..." hmm.... That's a good hmmm, by the way...more like a sigh....

10:33 am - School, Books, Craziness...

So, as anyone who reads this may know, I've started english 101. It was my second day today and we were given graded journal topics from yesterday back today. Everyone pretty much had just a grade at the bottom of there page, so when I saw all the red writing at the bottom of mine, I was like, uh oh... But as it turns out it was just a little note from the teach:

You are such a sweet writer-lots of charm  (yes it was underlined)- but save that for creative writing. Try writing a little more professionally (This is not a criticism-it's a compliment & suggestion :) )

I got a 9/10, btw.
Anyway, I took this eensy, wittle note as a very good sign that I may become a writer later on in life.
Anyways, our first assignment was a rough draft narrative about a vivid memory...the final draft is due tomorow...
I must say that I enjoy being in school. I'm  very happy.

Book News:
So as we all know, I'm always looking for something to read, and I got to go to the book store yesterday!!! *handclaps!!!* which I would have never gotten to do if I didn't need to pick up a MLA handbook for class. Anyways, so I'm looking for something to read. While I do like manga, I enjoy novels more. Plus it's more economic to buy a novel. So I go to the YA section (where I usually go), but come on! There's like nothing interesting there that I'm not already reading-except this one book called Bleed, which I might pick up later.
So, I go to the romance section. Why does every romance need to have a suggestive title or border line porn make out scene on the cove??? Jeez! I don't just want to get a book and have it be a drag with the occasional steamy, hot, passionate, sex scene every few chapters. No offense, I just think it'd be kind of annoying. I also don't want to be seen reading a book with a barely dressed man or couple on the front and be forever labeld a sex crazed closet freak. So I pick the least trashy covered book I can find. It has a young woman on it, her back to us, long flowing brown hair, you can see the side of her face. She's wearing a top that shows off her muscular back and arms as well as her animal side, and tight, slightly worn jeans. Said woman is also dragging her fingers across a concrete wall leaving claw marks. Yipee! The book is called On The Prowl, and while it's not the best book I've ever read, it does interest me AND it has four stories in it. One about were wolves, one about fey, and two others that are suppernaturalish. Anyway, it's cool.

Now getting back to an earlier statement, I don't like very graphic, inartistical love scenes that seemed to be placed in the book just for effect instead of crafted into the novel as something natural the characters would feel inclined to do. (My opinion does vary though.) I also don't like it if the author makes the reader unsure if the love scene actually happened or not. Example: MelMarr's Wicked Lovely. When I'd read that there was sex in the book I was like, What?! Where?! Though I didn't entirely  fault melmarr because I can be a little slow at times which was probably why I missed it...I knew Seth and Ash loved each other anyway, and I appreciate that she skimmed over it rather than got into hot and heavy detail. Another example is Amelia Atwater in her book wyvernhail. Apparently her character Hai had slept with more than one person while I was picking up on just one. Again I do not fault them as I know they have a rating to uphold and would much rather they imply instead of graphicize...Stephenie Meyer make characters with connections so strong that you can barely think about them 'gettin' down and dirty wit it' anyway, so she's okay. You didn't really worry about love scenes in Ink exchange either just because Leslie had so many other things going on, it was really quite overwhelming (in a good way)...

Something stupid that's going on in my life...I no longer have net connection at my house, so no blogging from there. Oh! And I'm kind of sick. I feel really lousy.
